That sounds like a wonderful project and I love the title of the book. COngratulations on your publication, Lee Anne! Ilove that first diptych you included here.
Thanks so much, Lin. Back in the 700s, English monk Saint Bede, when observing the tides, described the sea as "being unwittingly drawn up by some breathings of the moon." I thought that was such a wonderful description!
Beautiful meditation on how geography shapes temporal experience. The point about axial tilt determining daylight lenght based on latitude is something most people intellectually know but rarely feel. I grew up in the tropics where seasons are barely noticable, and moving north was genuinely disorienting until I learned to read place through its particular rhythm of light.
I have to say, I am feeling very drawn to this work. The first diptych is so good! Congrats again on the book and I hope the artist talk goes well.
Thanks so much, Manuela. (And thanks for the order.) That means a lot to me coming from you....who teaches a workshop in diptychs!

Thanks so much, Susanne. I love the deep, long-term exploration of a place, of listening to the land (or sea) to see what it has to say.
What a beautiful looking project and resulting book Lee Anne - to base it on the rhythm of cycles is a great idea. That's a fabulous title too!

The rhythm of light...such a beautiful example of how you experienced place through natural rhythms and time. Thanks so much for sharing!
